01
When is cataract surgery necessary?
Cataract surgery becomes necessary when vision loss is severe enough to affect daily life. Symptoms such as blurred vision, difficulty driving at night, light sensitivity, and faded colors can reduce quality of life. The decision for surgery is made after an eye examination, based on an assessment of the patient's complaints and vision level.
02
What are the symptoms of retinal diseases?
Retinal diseases can manifest with symptoms such as dark areas in the field of vision, sudden flashes of light, seeing floaters, or impaired central vision. It is important to have an eye examination without delay if these symptoms are noticed. Early diagnosis plays a crucial role in preserving vision.
03
Why does glaucoma require regular monitoring?
Glaucoma is a disease that can damage the optic nerve and often shows no symptoms in the early stages. If left untreated, it can lead to permanent vision loss. Regular eye checkups monitor intraocular pressure and help keep the progression of the disease under control.
04
Why is early diagnosis important in macular degeneration?
Macular degeneration is a major retinal disease affecting central vision. Early diagnosis can help slow vision loss and preserve existing vision. Regular eye exams, especially in older adults, enable early detection of the disease.
